Two days ago we had the most glorious spring day. So beautiful I went out and took these photos and then went shopping online for plants to entice butterflies and hummingbirds to our garden (read about it here).  Since then, winter has reclaimed the area with high winds, cold temperature, and lots of rain.  Yes, it’s Seattle, we get a lot of rain, but even for us, this weather is record breaking.  Because of the wind,  power outages, and thunderstorms, it feels like October, not nearly April.

In spite of the weather, I noticed a lot of changes in the Dogwood Tree. The blooms are starting!  I’m hoping their short life isn’t shortened more by the rain.  Tomorrow I’m going to cut some branches and bring them inside to bloom.  I can’t wait!

Here are photos of the tree today – the streaks in the background? Rain, rain, and more rain!  Oh and we had hail for awhile too. Gotta love spring in Seattle.
