I’m not a fan of kids playing with technology instead of being out and about and doing something physical;  however, if you need a little something to entertain your little one in the shopping cart, Nickelodeon has released several apps aimed at kids! If you have a iPhone or iPod touch, you can purchase the “iCarly:Sam’s Remote” which let you turn your device into Sam’s remote.  It includes sound effects from the show that your little one will recognize, like Sam’s insults (voiced by Jennette McCurdy), animations, and more.

Not an iCarly fan? Try the “Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions.  With this app you can play along with Diego and use music to rescue the shy animals of the world. “Help Diego to play soothing music on his Animal Rescuer flute in order to get the shy baby animals to emerge from their hiding places. Just tap the holes on the flute to help Diego play a song that will save the day.”

The new Nickelodeon apps are available for $1.99 each from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/. They join recently launched Nickelodeon apps including “SpongeBob Tickler”, “SpongeBob Jellyfish Jam”, and “Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom”, to name a few.
