What I’m about to tell you is pretty embarrassing, but shows how much I love my desserts. Growing up, we would have Thanksgiving at my grandparents’ house. One year, all of the aunts, uncles and cousins gathered at my grandparents’ house and realized that we had more pies than we did people!
Fall is here, and that means playing in the leaves, dressing up for Halloween and stuffing ourselves at Thanksgiving. At this time of year, candy is plentiful and always seems to be around. It happens every year; we buy bags and bags of candy, and most of it ends up showing on my waistline.
Growing up, my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins would all go to the Pocono Mountains for a week in August every year. We would all stay at a little dive motel, one family to a room. Our days were filled with swimming at the lake, playing in the sand and tons of card games. It became a tradition to go blueberry picking each year and that is when my love of blueberries began. I remember eating them right off the bush and the way...
One of my favorite childhood memories is making peach ice cream in our backyard. We all gathered around and took turns churning. That day I realized that nothing tastes better than ice cream that you have made at home. Simple ingredients, a little hard work, and you can enjoy ice cream better than store bought!
I bake with only the best ingredients – organic sugar, flour, butter, and Eggland’s Best eggs!
