I introduced Ellie, my son’s rescue dog last week. She’s a Brittany and Heeler mix who had been abused for years in Arizona. She was brought to Washington State through the kindness of a Brittany rescue group.
Is it just me, or do kids always come home from school completely ravished? Even my kindergartner is ready to stuff his face when he gets off the bus. All that learning and playing creates some hungry tummies!

My son starts kindergarten this week! My biggest goal as a mom is to set him up for success. This first year of “real” school — so much more grown up than preschool! — lays a foundation for all the years of education ahead of him. I hope he is enthusiastic about learning, makes friends, and learns a lot. I know that having a full tummy will help him reach these goals.
