I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Influence Central for WaterWipes. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

My son has super sensitive skin. He suffered from eczema as a baby and has exhibited signs of food sensitivities, but this summer he turned 2 and his diaper rashes have been out of control. We’re trying to figure out if it’s a food allergy or a sensitivity to certain chemicals because he’s just not getting better. In the meantime, we are as careful as possible with his poor, irritated skin.

In a perfect act of kismet, I recently learned about WaterWipes — a European brand of chemical free baby wipes that are made with just two ingredients: 99.9% purified Irish water, and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract.

Chemical free baby wipes

WaterWipes are sturdy enough to get the job done, and I love knowing they don’t have any bad chemicals or other things that are going to make my son’s skin conditions even worse. Before he was born, I was fairly ingredient conscious — I try to avoid parabens and phthalates in general. Now, thanks to his sensitive skin I’m even more uptight about the things he eats or applies to his body. WaterWipes give me major peace of mind in knowing we’re being gentle on him!

Prior to trying WaterWipes, I used regular baby wipes on my son unless his skin was super raw — on those days, I used nothing but water on a cotton ball to clean him up during diaper changes. It takes a couple WaterWipes to get the job done, but they’re way more convenient and easier to use than cotton balls.

Award-winning baby wipes

WaterWipes were even recognized by the National Eczema Association for being the only baby wipe with no chemicals — they got a 4 out of 5 Seal of Acceptance Rating. I’d use these wipes on other children too, not just ones with super sensitive skin. Because our kids are exposed to SO many chemicals out there, I think it’s best to try to restrict their exposure as much as possible.

I’m excited to announce that I’m a WaterWipes Ambassador and will be posting about these products regularly over the next few months. I hope you’ll join me as we discover more benefits of going chemical-free and giving our skin a break, whether it’s particularly sensitive or not.
