Ford Holiday Reception

Last week’s trip to Michigan for Ford Motors’ annual news briefing event brought all kinds of interesting and fun experiences, from seeing the Ford Fusion Automated Research Vehicle to visiting an industrial 3D printing facility. Ford capped off the day with its Holiday Reception, which was a chance to relax, socialize, and get into the holiday spirit!

Every good party has some entertainment, and this was no exception. From the Mustang pool table to racing toy cars, there were all kinds of fun activities going on. You could even stop by an ornament table and pick up a custom painted Ford holiday ornament, which is sitting snugly in my Christmas tree as I write this.

Delicious Food

The centerpiece of a party is almost always its food. I could tell you about the steak and garlic-stuffed olives I ate at the reception, but as delicious as they were, there are more pressing matters at hand: A candy conveyor belt. You heard me!

Candy Conveyor Belt!

Not only was the conveyor belt filled with bags of candies and cookies, but there were empty bags available to make your own custom mix from the candies in jars. In addition to this were several tables filled with gingerbread men, caramel spoons, chocolate mousse, bacon cupcakes…

Next to the candy conveyor belt, they had a coffee station where guests were offered a chocolate shot to drop into their coffee mug. This consisted of a small cup made of chocolate and filled with your choice of liqueur – I tried Godiva White Chocolate and Caramel liqueurs – which is then dropped into your cup of coffee. Mmmm! They also created a signature Blue Ford Holiday Cocktail, which was fun.

Wrapping up a Great Trip

I couldn’t think of a better way to wind down my trip than with this fun night of candy and Christmas cheer! Ford’s news briefing & reception was informative and unique – I had so much fun meeting everyone who attended the event, from Ford’s PR team and technicians to the other members of press who were in attendance. Thanks to everyone involved for making my first visit to Michigan so enjoyable!
