Money is a little tight this month so I’m looking for fast, easy, and inexpensive meals to feed my husband. He LOVES meat and unfortunately it’s quite expensive, so I’ve been using meat as a component of a dish, but not the main focus.
Tonight I used one of the Kraft Fresh Take meal kits to make my hubby a dinner that was both easy and delicious and thankfully, affordable. I found the Kraft Fresh Take packages in the same location as the shredded cheeses at my local Walmart store (see my entire shop here). I was surprised by the number of options available – I wasn’t prepared for that. I’d originally picked up a zucchini and was going to use their Italian bread crumbs and cheese mixture and then top it with pizza sauce for me (the vegetarian) and then add some shredded chicken for the hubby. But then I saw the Rosemary and Roasted Garlic Kraft Fresh Take and I decided to use it instead.
I picked up a handful of fresh green beans, a large white onion, some chicken, and the Kraft Fresh Take meal kit. I knew I had red potatoes and carrots on hand at home as well as some organic olive oil spray so I was set for dinner.
- 1 pd small potatoes (washed, peeled if desired, and cut into bite sized pieces)
- 1 cup fresh green beans (washed and trimmed)
- 1 large onion, roughly chopped
- 1 lb chicken breast tenderloin pieces
- Organic Olive Oil Spray
- Kraft Fresh Take Rosemary & Roasted Garlic Meal Kit
- Ranch Dressing
- Parmesan Cheese (grated)
- Preheat Oven to 425 degrees
- Cover a baking sheet with a silicone mat or spray with olive oil spray.
- Rinse the chicken breast tenderloin pieces (the small pieces removed with the breast that have the large vein running through them usually – I strip the vein out)
- Shake to coat in the Kraft Fresh Take mix a few pieces at a time; remove and place onto the prepared pan – pat the coating into place.
- Place the chopped vegetables onto the prepared pan opposite the chicken, spray with the olive oil spray, then cover with the remaining bread crumbs and cheese – press down.
- Bake the chicken and vegetables at 425 degrees for about 25 minutes (chicken should read 165 internally and the veggies and chicken should be browned).
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve with Ranch Dressing.
Since I coated twice as much chicken and vegetables as the package called for, the coating looked sparse, but it was actually perfect. The breadcrumbs are seasoned beautifully and the vegetables and chicken were tasty! I topped the meat and veggies with some additional Parmesan Cheese I had on hand and served it with Ranch Dressing – my husband loved it!
Did using a Kraft Fresh Take Meal Kit save me time? Absolutely. Breading took about 2 minutes and they were in the oven and roasting in minutes.

I have to admit that I always feel a little ashamed and a lot humbled when I buy a product like Kraft Fresh-Takes (although it’s residing in the fresh-food/refrigerated section feels a whole lot better than say a box on a banal looking shelf (not to mention tests like a thousand times fresher and more yummy!)
I can say this is REALLY true about Fresh-Takes – which on principle I did NOT want to like or approve of. (Though despite their affiliations with Big Tabacco – I’ve always had a soft spot for Kraft – as my very first favorite comfort food was KRAFT DINNER – the depression-era inspired take on Mac & Cheese.
And while I’ve only tried TWO of the Fresh-Take options – (the Italian Parmesan being the other one) – I must say that I actually LOVE the Rosemary -Roasted Garlic version: it is genuinely delicious and in my half a dozen experiments with it (using everything from chicken to pork to fish to potatoes) it is virtually FOOLPROOF.
We happen to LOVE the flavor combo of Garlic (especially roasted) and Rosemary – and while most prepared food manufacturers have gotten hip to the popularity of adding BASIL to everything – Rosemary is still a much under-appreciated herb. We like it so much we grow it in the kitchen window all year round. Thanks Connie
Weirdly Rosemary is one herb I only like at Thanksgiving. Maybe it’s because as a child that’s the only time it was brought out. I’m a Thyme fan though and yes, the Fresh Takes are foolproof 🙂

I have never noticed Kraft Fresh takes before and I was just at WalMart last Saturday. This looks so delicious and fresh too. My son loves anything chicken and my husband likes chicken mixed with something so this will work perfectly! Thanks for the great idea!
We love the Kraft Fresh Takes! I have used them in several different recipes and not one has been bad. The amount of flavor they offer is amazing and delicious. I have used chicken, pork and used it for hamburgers! You can’t lose with these! Just wondering if they can be frozen?
I don’t see why not- as long as they’re thawed before using it should be fine.

So easy and my husband’s asked for me to make it again!
I bought one of these kits with a coupon a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! It’s a great idea and makes it easier to serve a healthy and nutritious dinner.
That truly does look delicious, Connie! And from one vegetarian to another … it would be just as good without the chicken for our carnivorous husbands. 😉
Completely delicious without the chicken for sure! 🙂
wow! I am making this for dinner, this looks so good, easy and fast, plus we all love Kraft cheeses. Thanks for posting.
It was fast and it was GOOD! Just the right amount of coating – like Parmesan fries at a bar. Yum!

Super fast and easy and everything is ready to go in minutes. There are so many different flavors from spicy to mild. Enjoy!
