Resources – Master Lock’s Random Act of Kindness

Did you know that there’s a Random Acts of Kindness website?  There is! (aka RAK) is a site full of resources to help you make the most of this week.  There’s a free printable poster, a portion of which is below, with ideas and suggestions for an act of kindness.  There are also links personal stories (you can add your own), a great downloadable and printable monthly calendar with ideas you and/or your children can do several days a month to be kinder, and research on how helping others is actually good for you.

The site also offers inspirational quotes from celebrities, authors, notable people in history, politicians, and ever day people as well.”

Random Acts of Kindness WeekI have never met a person whose greatest need was anything other than real, unconditional love. You can find it in a simple act of kindness toward someone who needs help. There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame that heals our soul, energizes our spirit and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other.” -Elizabeth Kubler-Ross (1926-2004); psychiatrist, author

For teachers and homeschooling parents there are free lesson plans that include age-appropriate classroom and service projects for all grade levels K-12.  There are also arts & craft projects and ideas as well as writing prompts and reading suggestions.  There’s also a reading list for adults and children on the benefits of kindness as well as books that demonstrate the concept for children.
