I expected to spend the day at the in-laws. The hubby is one of nine children, so every holiday is a time to get together with the other siblings, all of their children, and a few other assorted relatives.  Dinner is served on a table that seats 12 and additional tables are scattered about. It can be overwhelming at times, but it’s always fun to see everyone.

This year, instead of attending the Easter event and enjoying the youngest and their egg hunt, I spent the day with my mom. I snapped a few photos of my garden before I left, as well as a few of hers when I arrived.  It was a cold and rainy day, but the color in the garden just couldn’t be held back.  The photos in the center row are from mom’s house – her weathervane clock and bright hyacinths as well as a tulip that will be blooming any day now.  My yard has a gorgeous flowering tree, apple I think, that is in full bloom.  We also have the dainty white flowers, no idea what they are, but likely some kind of daisy.  The orange tulips are about spent, but the blueberries are looking amazing.

I was a little disappointed to miss out on the frilly Easter dresses and the kids hunting for eggs, but we found our own color and had a great day.
