elizabethgrant2I was given the opportunity to try out Elizabeth Grant’s Vitamin C Body Scrub. I’ve used other scrubs before, but most of them smelled like they were formulated for teens – super-sweet, frosting-flavored, sugary messes.  The Elizabeth Grant Vitamin C Body Scrub is for grown ups who like a subtle scent and  great exfoliating ability.

The scent has a hint of fresh orange that’s a welcome addition to my morning shower. I use it on my arms, legs, and torso.  I also use it before self-tanning – it is a great way to prepare for even coverage.

Its main ingredient is Torricelumn™  which is said to target dry, rough areas with an infusion of skin-soothing moisture. Torricelumn™ is unique to the Elizabeth Grant line of products.

What is Torricelumn™?

Kelp is the forest of the ocean. Its dense canopy of fronds darkens the water beneath. Like its terrestrial equivalents, this forest, too, has its seasons. Winter storms rip fronds from stalks, sometimes uprooting entire plants, wrenching their tenuous grip from the ocean’s floor.

In the Spring, the gaps that Winter leaves are filled with new growth. A unique event is triggered in the first quarter of the growth season… signaling our divers to begin the harvest of Torricelumn™’s core ingredient.

The heart of Torricelumn™ is extracted from the fronds but the true secret of its transformative powers is hidden within the pods that keep the clusters of fronds afloat. These pods lift the leaf-like fronds to the ocean’s surface, allowing them to absorb sunlight, photosynthesizing oxygen, the source of life and energy.

The seawater absorbed by kelp is similar to human plasma, allowing us to obtain the full nutritive benefits of the sea’s vitamins and minerals through the process of osmosis. To preserve their freshness, the plants must reach the laboratory by nightfall. There they go through an endothermic process. Biologically active substances and a soup of natural sea vitamins, nutrients and minerals bond together. This is how the substance known as Torricelumn™ is formed.

Torricelumn™ – the compound that has revolutionized skin care.

It also has Vitamin C which is as a powerful antioxidant that works to combat dullness and skin discolorations – two things as I nearly the age of 50 I’m combating.

Because of these two ingredients, this scrub is said to be a powerful anti-aging treatment. I haven’t used it long enough to know if I’ll look younger (although most people think I’m much younger than my age), but I know that my skin is smoother looking and it feels great.  It takes just moments in the shower and my dry flaky skin is gone.  Best of all, I only need a quarter size dollop to do my entire body so it’s economical.  It’s a quality product that works well and feels great.

If the name Elizabeth Grant sounds familiar, it’s because she founded the company in 1958. Since then, Elizabeth evolved the company from a home-based business to a multi-million dollar global corporation.  Formerly available by special order only, the Elizabeth Grant line of skin care and beauty products is now available at select retail locations in Canada, the United States, England, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Australia, Japan and Poland.

The only flaw that I found in the Elizabeth Grant Vitamin C Body Scrub is that the ingredients weren’t listed on the tube, box, or their website. Luckily, I’m rarely allergic to skincare products, but for people with sensitivities, this may be a problem.  The packaging is great looking, but I found the tubes to be so well made that I had some difficulty squeezing them to get the product out.  I do have some lack of strength in my hands due to a neurological issue, so others may not have the same issue.
