I love cereal and yes, I’ve been known to eat it for three meals a day when the hubby is working, so I believe I’m quite the cereal connoisseur. I like a cereal with some crunch to it and just a little bit of sweetness.
I got all that in my box of Mom’s Best Naturals Oats and Honey Blend®. I will admit that when I got the box I opened it immediately and started snacking on it – it was delicious on its own!
Made from toasted whole grain oats and lightly sweetened, it’s a healthy and delicious breakfast cereal. It tastes fantastic, but even better, there’s nothing artificial, no added saturated fat or hydrogenated oils, and no high fructose corn syrup. There are 10 grams of whole grain per service, it’s naturally low in fat, cholesterol free, and sweetened with honey.
The Oats and Honey Blend compares to Post® Honey Bunches of Oats® or Post® Honey Bunches of Oats Organic® in taste but not price – the Mom’s Best Naturals is less per ounce than the Post brands. Averaging 14-19 cents an ounce, the Post non-organic runs 18 cents and the Organic version 30 cents.1
I also received a box of Mom’s Best Naturals Raisin Bran. Unfortunately, I hate (too strong a word? Nope ), I hate bran flakes and raisins. There’s just nothing I could do to make myself try it. But, I needed to know if it was good, so I made my son eat it. Don’t worry, he’s 23; it wasn’t too hard to convince him. He loved it. Said it was as good as Kellogg’s Raisin Bran®. Like the other flavor, the Mom’s Naturals Best is less expensive than its competitors.
Mom’s Best Naturals is a forward-thinking company that’s been family-owned for four generations. They support renewable energy development by purchasing 100% of the electricity required for the production of their cereals from Windsource®. They also have active programs to reduce energy and minimize water use at their Minnesota plant – over 99% of the waste water at the plant is recycled. Additionally, the cartons are made from 100% recycled paperpoard with a minimum of 35% post consumer content.
Mom’s Best Naturals and its employees, are also a responsible community partner. “MOM Cares” is an employee funded foundation that have given nearly 100 grants to help others in the community. I appreciate a company that looks beyond itself to make the world a better place.
Sadly, Mom’s Best Natural isn’t available near me. To find out if it’s available in your area, visit their website and click on your location. I’ll be asking my local Albertsons to stock it – I really want to try their oatmeal. I love oatmeal! They also have Marshmellow Oats (compare to Lucky Charms® ) which would be fabulous!
